What is film language? Over the next year you will hear the phrase SHOW DON'T TELL a lot!! Film language is understanding how to tell a story in pictures. A close up tells us about emotion. A low shot can make a character look heroic. A shot looking down from above can make a character look frightened or vulnerable. The better we understand film language, the better film maker we become.
